About MatrixNL

MatrixNL is an independent website that provides real-time traffic information for the Dutch road network. The site combines data from various public data sources such as NDW and DRIPs, and presents it on a clear map.

Why MatrixNL?

Much traffic information is scattered, wrong or hidden behind paywalls. MatrixNL was founded out of frustration with the limited availability of up-to-date data, even though this information is freely available through open data sources. That's why we make this data easily accessible to everyone.

Which data is used?

• NDW open data (matrix signs, incidents, DRIPs, roadworks)
• DRIP messages for current text messages along the road
• Incident reports (such as breakdowns, accidents, obstacles)
• Combined and our own processed datasets
